Do You Know Molly Moocher?

Molly Moocher is the mushroom lovers name for morels. A favorite amongst wild mushroom lovers.
They look a bit like a brain, and taste like mushroom heaven.

This is the biggest one we found today,
but it was one among many! This gets a big woo hoo; this is like mushroom gold!

We sauteed them in a bit of butter. Sprinkled with parsley, we enjoyed the wild mushroom flavor that I can't even begin to describe.

Have you ever eaten morel mushrooms? Have you hunted them?

Thanks for reading my blog, see you tomorrow,
Lise

My blacksmith hunts them for me. He loves them but about 8 years ago he became allergic to them. So I get them all now. Poor guy.

Oh, they are wonderful! I haven't found any this year -- need to lok some more. I saute them in butter with minced garlic. Heaven!

Patti, I saw your photo! Woo hoo for you:) Too bad for B, but hey, more for you, LOL!

Vicki, while we often saute mushrooms in butter and garlic, we leave the garlic out when we cook morels or chanterelles. We like their flavor just the way they are.

There are lots of mushrooms in our area at certain times of the year, mostly fall. I've been afraid to pick any. Maybe I'll take one of the extension classes offered now that I have more time to stay in Powell River. - Margy
