Amazing Day!

What's so amazing about today?  I thought you'd never ask...

Today is the second day Johny and I woke and were able to watch the sun rising through the trees...ordinarily, this wouldn't feel so awesome, but we haven't seen the sun in the morning for a very long time (I didn't count the days, but it's been a long time)...I didn't realize how much I appreciate the morning sun until I saw it again!

Today begins a few days of alone time for me, I'm atingle with delight...Mountain Man has gone camping/fishing with his buddies...and the opportunity to do what I want when I want is completely appealing!  One of the things I wanted to achieve was to finish weed eating the yard, which is almost
accomplished but halted due to my aching muscles after 2.5 hours of attacking the foot tall grass and the weed eater malfunctioning.  Lucky for me, our friend Charlie was able to fix it, so I will be able to resume that activity tomorrow.  Do you find it amusing that this is one of my ambitions during this time?  I do!

Today I was in awe of these alluring gladiolas...they are in my friends garden...absolutely beautiful (the blue sky's not bad either!)...

Today I checked on our three Carolina Wren chicks, and was astonished when I realized there are 5 (start at the left of the photo and you will see a beak, and under it another beak and eye, then the three additional heads that are easily apparent)...I guess as they age and mature there's no where to hide...awesome!

Those are just a few reasons my today is amazing...have you had an amazing day?

You must like weed-eating a lot more than I do. :)

It's always good to have a little time to yourself ~ I don't think I would have chosen the same activity as you!! I think my muscles would have ached much sooner!! Enjoy your free to do what your heart desires time :) Judi

If I could do the weed-eating (can't because of my bad back) I can imagine the total solitude one would feel. All sounds except for the hum of the machine are blocked out and you can focus on making everything look manicured. I used to enjoy gardening, but can't do more than a few minutes now. But I sure do appreciate a manicured looked lawn.

Great photos...of both the flowers and the wrens. Yesterday, I witnessed the 2 cardinal chicks leaving their nest. Awesome! Hugs.

Wonderful post! Hope you enjoyed your few days of alone time. My hubby is traveling right now and I have been alone for a while and will for a while yet, and though I enjoy it in a lot of ways, I also miss him a lot too! :-) Beautiful glads!

LOL richies, not really! But it's got to be done:)

Agreed Rog!

Thanks Judi, he'll be coming home tomorrow, I'm also looking forward to that! But I will cherish every moment until then!

I agree Leslie, it does look pretty when it's a little less wild around here, but I'm sure glad I don't have to weed eat all 5 acres!

Dad, how cool that you got to watch the cardinals fledge! Hugs back!

Thanks Linda!

I know what you mean Marie, Johny will be returning tomorrow...that will be nice!
