Jessi & Liam's Vacation, Day 6

We've had a few rainy evenings keeping us under roof, so Liam was very excited that we had a clear day and finally got the chance to roast marshmallows.  He searched with Nono (Johny/Mountain Man) to find Birch branches for the sticks and thought it smelled good.
He and I burnt our first round (I guess I'm out of practice), but we ate them anyway and tried again...
...Liam thought we were pretty good at the next attempt.  His mommy, however, is a marshmallow roasting expert!
Marshmallow heaven!
 Marshmallow overload!

After breakfast this morning, we began the process of making strawberry jam.  We cleaned and cut our berries, with Liam taking the lead...

...now the bowl is now sitting in the refrigerator macerating (we'll make the jam tomorrow).  Jessi and I also juiced some strawberries to make popsicles, and also cleaned and cut some berries to freeze whole.

Liam and Nono set up a tent with the hope we can camp out tonight.  I must admit this is one activity that is not exciting me, but the boy wants to sleep in the woods and so that's what we are going to do...is it bad of me to hope for rain?

This afternoon, Liam and I went back to our friends place with the chicken coop to redo our egg hunting experience (click here to read about what happened the last time we collected eggs).  This time we were better prepared with a basket and Liam was excited!
Sure enough (thanks to our friend Bobby and the chickens) there were 7 eggs!
Liam was ecstatic, counting them repeatedly.
We carried the basket together to keep the eggs safe (his request) and spoke a little about what happened the last time. I'm so glad this trip was a success:)
When we got home, we talked about why the eggs were dirty, washed them, and boiled some...
...because he couldn't wait to try his eggs!

I'll close with what might be Liam's most exciting experience so far...Nono taught him how to shoot a BB gun a cans as targets...
...well, he really helped Nono, but he really enjoyed it.
He was so proud when he heard the tink of the can being hit and seeing it fall over!

It's been a great day so far and it's not over!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise
