Graceful Jellyfish

Today is an exciting day...it begins Jessi's (my daughter/Liam's mom) first vacation in a very long time, and we are heading to the cabin for a week.  This is the first time Liam visits our cabin and I can't wait to see what he thinks of everything.  I've been packing and getting things ready for the big trip (we are leaving in the very early morning, as I usually do, and this way Liam can sleep most of the way), and keeping myself occupied while I wait for them to arrive.  I went out to the dock and found this graceful transparent moon jellyfish gently floating about.  They do have tentacles with poisonous stinging cells which they use to capture their prey, but they typically don't sting humans.

Then a manta ray quickly swam by...too fast to capture a picture, but I thought it was cool to see.  The river is full of so much amazing wildlife...there's always something to see!

This morning the sun was a pretty ball of orange/red...I hope the old saying "red sun in the morning, sailors take warning" isn't an indicator of rainy weather tonight!  Driving at night and in the rain is no fun.

They should be arriving soon so I'm signing off for today...tomorrow, we'll be at the cabin!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise
