Valentine Tulips

Mountain Man gave me a beautiful Valentine's Tulip plant this morning.  It was a sweet surprise, we do acknowledge and celebrate our love for each other on Valentine's Day, but we keep it simple and stay away from the commercialization of it, so I was especially touched with this gift.

I've been enjoying these flowers tremendously today.  I'd forgotten how much I enjoy fresh flowers ~ their color, their delicate petals, their intricate insides, the way the blossom opens and closes with the sun, their fragrance ~ everything about them appeals to me.  I realized this morning that it has been quite some time since I have seen a fresh flower up close, and I felt a little like a child with a new toy!  I sat outside with the sun shining on the lovely blooms, taking pictures as the spirit moved me.  I hope you find as much pleasure in what my eyes saw through the lens of my camera as I found taking them.

I must admit, spending time with these beautiful tulips increased my understanding of the anticipation and appreciation for the coming of spring.  My excitement was peaked when I saw the daffodils the other day, and my Valentine tulips have heightened my interest, even though I continue to repeat my mantra "let it snow".

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
