Daffodils

On our return home from running errands today, I spied Daffodils beginning to bloom in the median of the road.  The bright yellow specks immediately caught my attention, and as I gazed upon them, the light turned green and I had to move on.  I decided to turn around so I could take a picture; they are the first blooms of any kind that I've seen, and though they weren't dancing (yet), they reminded me of Wordsworth's poem...

Daffodils
 ~by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

The last line in the poem brought back sweet memories of you..."And dances with the daffodils." Also reminds me of a song by Leane Wormak, "Just Dance" (may not be totally accurate...but one of my favirite songs). Lyrics say something about sitting it out or dancing...I'm glad you and Mountain Man decided to "dance". Hugs!

Margy, we did just have snow, but it's been so warm otherwise, I think all the plants think it's spring!

Dad, I'll have to look into that song! Hugs back!
