Enjoying Morning Coffee ~ Outside!

This morning graced us with another warm beginning...warm enough to abandon the thought of getting a fire going in the wood burning stove and instead, wrapping myself up in a blanket (Johny stayed barefooted) and sitting outside to enjoy our coffee.  Nice!!!
This is my coffee cup...a girl can dream, can't she?  Maybe if I click my heels together 3 times...  A cold front is headed our way, and though no snow is predicted, let it snow...let it snow...let it snow...

Pogo & Fluffy joined us on the porch.  Pogo is not affected in any way by freezing temperatures, so he roams the mountains no matter what the temperature is.  Fluffy, on the other hand, who is a predominantly indoor cat except for when we let her out on the porch with us, periodically scratches and mews at the door to go out and watch the birds, which lasts only long enough for her to realize how cold it is.  So today, she enjoyed an extended outdoor excursion.
She scouted the porch for all the new smells and was particularly interested in this area which is where the squirrels usually walk, maybe she parked herself there for a while to see if any would dare venture onto her porch.  The birds were all over the place, and she quickly left this post and went into the yard stalking them. That is some coat of fur she has, isn't it?  You would think with that thick coat she wouldn't mind the cold too much!

In other news (my clever transition from one topic to another totally unrelated one)..I've shared our discovery of a Purple Finch visiting our feeders before.  Today there were 4 males at one point!  They are so beautiful, and have such a beautiful song (click on the Purple Finch link to hear it).  I was so excited to see them all I had to take a picture (out of the window because they are very shy, even if I stand still in a corner for extended periods, they don't come).

Speaking of beautiful songs, I'll leave you with a song I heard this morning on Blind Pig & The Acorn.  These are Tipper's daughters Chitter and Chatter, (The Pressley Girls) singing This Little Light of Mine...a beautiful rendition that put a song in my heart and a lightness in my step all day (click on the song link or the blog link to listen if you like).  I'm listening to it again right now, nodding my head, tapping my foot, and smiling.  "Every day, I'm gonna let my little light shine!"

Thanks for reading my blog, you are the best f/f/r/s/f's, see you tomorrow,
Lise

Great photo of Fluffie...and loved the song. Ma tante Murielle and uncle David just left this morning after spending a week with us. We chatted a lot (not a surprise here), had fun, ate well and attended Diego's 3 year old birthday party. Please keep them both in your healing thoughts and prayers. Did not get to the blog every day, so now I am playing "catch up". Hugs!
