Sunning on the River

This beautiful bird has been on one of the near pilings along the river these past two days. 

I believe it is a Darter, in the Anhingidea family, commonly known as the Snakebird.  Handsome fellow (I have no idea if is is a male or female, unlike other species, the plumage is the same for both), but to me, he is handsome!

This is from yesterday, he gave me a nice show for this shot!
